How to use the first week checklist
Read the arrival page before pickup, then use only the page that matches the question in front of you. Keep meal, toilet, sleep, and settling notes brief and factual. A few dated observations are easier to share with a veterinarian or trainer than a perfect looking diary that becomes impossible to maintain.
The checklist is for ordinary preparation and observation. It cannot assess illness, pain, dehydration, parasites, or whether a puppy is developing normally. Arrange the veterinary visit recommended by your breeder, shelter, or clinic, and contact a veterinarian sooner if your puppy will not eat or drink, repeatedly vomits, has persistent diarrhea, seems unusually weak, struggles to breathe, or changes suddenly.
