A man accused of abandoning two dogs on Isabelle Street, about half a mile from the Jennings animal shelter in Louisiana, received two animal cruelty citations, KPLC reported.
The shelter said staff had offered assistance when he first brought the dogs there. Its account, reported by KPLC, was that he drove away and left them elsewhere instead of keeping them until help was available.
Animal control spent hours responding
Police Chief Danny Semmes told KPLC that an animal control officer spent more than three hours trying to capture the dogs. The station reported that police identified and cited the man. Citations do not establish guilt.
