Phu Nguyen, 27, was booked on two counts of aggravated cruelty to animals after two dogs were killed in Ruston, Louisiana, KNOE reported September 17, citing police.

Officers went to Sleepy Hollow Street around 1 p.m. on September 8 following a welfare call. Police said they discovered that two dogs had been killed. Nguyen was booked into the Lincoln Parish Detention Center on September 16 after leaving a medical facility, according to KNOE.

Police said the investigation was continuing. Nguyen is accused, not convicted.
