Toronto police arrested Tanychia Black, 40, on September 13 after an alleged attack near Avenue Road and Roxborough Street. Their arrest announcement said the two dogs involved had not been located.

Police allege the dogs escaped an enclosed off leash area on September 10 and attacked a person walking a leashed dog. The person sustained injuries described as non life threatening; their dog suffered life threatening injuries.

The search continues for the dogs

Charges announced September 13

Black faces criminal negligence causing bodily harm, obstructing a peace officer and four counts under Ontario’s Dog Owners’ Liability Act. Those include two counts of failing to prevent a bite or attack and two involving a dog biting a person or domestic animal. The allegations have not been proven in court.
