Malcom Takudzwa Muzavazi, 39, was killed by four dogs on a footpath in Southerton, Harare, on September 24, according to a Zimbabwe Republic Police statement reproduced by Pindula.

The September 25 report quotes police as placing the attack between 6 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., beside a ZESA Holdings boundary wall and a car sales property.

Police said a private security guard had released the dogs from their kennels for feeding. They described one male Belgian Malinois and three Belgian Malinois, German Shepherd crosses.

Two arrests as the investigation continues

Police identified the arrested men as Mannex Svova, 21, the guard responsible for the dogs, and Itai Tamirepi, 43, a co owner of the car sales business. Both were assisting investigators, the statement said.

The available reports do not specify charges, a court date or what happened to the dogs afterward. The arrests do not establish criminal guilt.
